What is a meningocele?

Wow, pretty scary sounding, huh?

meningocele /me·nin·go·cele/ (mĕ-ning´gah-sēl) hernial protrusion of the meninges through a defect in the cranium (cranial m.) or vertebral column (spinal m.).

A blister is another way to explain what this is. 

Ben's was at the vertebral column. Actually, the back of his neck. He had surgery when he was one and a half and is now perfect. He does sport a scar on the back of his neck, which I honestly don't know he is aware of.
